After a race where Jimmie Johnson dominated the entire day, it would be Ryan Newman who would get the win and kiss the bricks at the Brickyard 400. Newman had a fast car throughout the race, but with Jimmie Johnson staying out in front, it seemed like no one would be able to catch him. Eventually Johnson would lose his advantage though, as a 17.2 second pit stop put Johnson seven seconds behind Newman. The Brickyard 400 had only a handful of cautions, and finished without any late race wrecks.
