Daytona 500: Gatorade Dual Win Guarantees No Success In The 500

The Gatorade Duals, the qualifying races that set the starting lineup for the Daytona 500, are just 36 hours away. And, while all drivers are currently focused on those races, and trying to earn a victory, winning the Duals has guaranteed no success when it comes to the actual Daytona 500. Over the last four years, the eight drivers who have won one of the Gatorade Duals have scored a combined two top 10 finishes in the year with their wins. The highest finish of those drivers was Dale Earnhardt Jr. who finished ninth in 2008.
