Kasey Kahne on the Pole for NASCAR’s Price Chopper 400

Kasey Kahne will start on the pole for Sunday afternoon's Price Chopper 400 after qualifying with a speed of 176.644 MPH. This is Kasey's first pole at Kansas—the 19th of his career and third of the season. Qualifying second was Paul Menard, who laid down a lap of 30.95 seconds with a speed of 174.469 MPH. Sunday will mark his best start ever at Kansas. Two-time Kansas winner Jeff Gordon qualified third after laying down a lap of 30.96 seconds and a speed of 174.430 seconds and was the highest qualifying Chase driver. Rounding out the top-five in qualifying is Joey Logano, who qualified fourth with a lap speed of 174.312 MPH, and Greg Biffle, who qualified fifth with a speed of 174.255 MPH.
