Kasey Kahne wins in Atlanta! The Oral-B USA 500 started out as a typical 1.5 mile track: One driver held a dominant lead while the rest of the field tried to catch up. Kevin Harvick cemented his lead early on, leading the race by as much as five seconds at one point. Harvick continued to lead for the early part of the race, and passed the 1,000 laps led in a season mark. At Lap 80 though, Harvick lost his lead to Denny Hamlin who was able to get out in front of the 4 car after the leaders went to pit road during a caution. Hamlin battled Harvick for a couple of laps, and eventually got out in front. The 11 car though could not hold his lead and Harvick would eventually get back to 1st place.
