While Hendrick teammate Jimmie Johnson will most likely make history with his fourth consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup championship, Jeff Gordon is looking to make a little history of his own.
Gordon is attempting to win at Homestead, the only active Cup track where he has competed but not taken the checkered flag.
"A win, you know, is huge, especially at Homestead because it is the final race," Gordon said. "We've never won there before."
"It would be huge for us," continued Gordon. "I think everybody feels that way."
Homestead is the only speedway where Gordon has failed to secure a win. He has won 82 races, finally conquering Texas Motor Speedway with his win in the spring race.
