After four years of Red Bull supremacy, the 2014 Formula One season promised change. New engine regulations allowed each team to start fresh. As it turned out, Mercedes produced a power unit far superior to those of Renault and Ferrari, setting their factory team up for a season more dominant than any of Red Bull's championship years.
