Sebastian Vettel claimed a record-equaling ninth consecutive Formula One victory with a dominant performance in the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix. Extending his own succession of wins in a single season, the Red Bull ace beat outgoing teammate Mark Webber and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso to match Alberto Ascari's 60-year-old record of nine-in-a-row, set over the 1952-53 campaigns. Vettel was beaten into Turn 1 by the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg, with Lewis Hamilton slotting into third, but the German was back in front as they started the second lap as he drove past Rosberg exiting the final corner.
