Daytona 500 Qualifying Schedule 2013: Date, Start Times, TV Info and More

NASCAR’s unique qualifying for the Daytona 500 will take on a new twist in 2013, as there have been some key changes to the process. Saturday night’s Sprint Unlimited will be for fun, but the next day, things will get real. A qualifying session will be held on Sunday, Feb. 17, in order to determine the first and second starting positions. The Budweiser Duels next week will help to determine the remaining spots. The big change, though, is that the 36 fastest qualifying times will be guaranteed to break into the field, whereas, in previous years, the top-35 points-earning teams were assured spots.
