Drivers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series are awarded 10 points for each win during the 26 races leading up to the Chase. The points are then reset to 5,000 plus the bonus points for the final 10 races of the season, and points are awarded just as they normally are for the races in the Chase, culminating with a champion at the end of the 10th race. Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin have each amassed 50 bonus points for the five wins they have so far this year.
