Roush Fenway Racing announced that Donnie Wingo will replace Jimmy Fenning who will be moved to oversee the teams R&D testing efforts, as crew chief of the No. 6 UPS team with driver David Ragan.
Wingo worked with then Chip Ganassi Racing driver Jamie McMurray during the 2003, 2004, and 2005 season. After McMurray was released from his contract in 2006 with Chip Ganassi Racing, McMurray would end up at Roush Fenway Racing leaving Wingo behind to work the box for Casey Mears.
Wingo would eventually work with Juan Montoya and Reed Sorenson during the 2007 and 2008 season, before being reunited with McMurray and the No. 26 team at Roush Fenway for the 2009 season.
