Indy 500: Sarah Fisher Brings New Roles to the Track in 2011

In 1999, Sarah Fisher was a bright-eyed 19-year-old who just qualified for her first Indianapolis 500, only the third woman to do so in the history of the race. In 2011, Fisher is bringing some new roles to the track, none of which involve a fire suit or her team’s bright yellow Dollar General-sponsored IndyCar, driven this year by Ed Carpenter. Fisher competed in her ninth Indy 500 in 2010, her first year as an owner of multiple teams in the race (Jay Howard, driver of the second Sarah Fisher Racing entry, failed to make the race).
