Jeff Russell in Critical Condition After Crashing During Practice Session

It's been three weeks since former NASCAR driver Shane Hmiel was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after a violent single-car accident while qualifying for a USAC race at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana. Hmiel who is still on his road to recovery, will be undergoing a fourth surgery on November 1 to repair a vein after a small leak was discovered during an angioplasty on Friday. The motorsports world was hit with another tragedy on Saturday when Jeff Russell of Boise, Idaho received extensive injuries during an afternoon practice session at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for Speedfest 2010.
