Jimmie Johnson’s 6th Title Chance Takes Crashing Blow at Charlotte

Five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson looked to be making a charge for his sixth title, but with 17 laps to go at Charlotte his chances took a heavy hit when he crashed hard. People were writing off Johnson as a contender for the title this year when low and behold he makes his usual charge toward the top drivers in the points with the pressure of the Chase. Johnson was third in points heading to Charlotte, four markers out of the lead. He was expected to do well at the 1.5-mile track that had been so good to him in the past.
