Kurt Busch’s NASCAR ‘Divorce’ May Straighten Up His Driving

The departure of Kurt Busch from Penske Racing has been characterized as a "firing" when, according to both sides of the story, it was more like a divorce with irreconcilable differences. Even though Shell/Pennzoil expressed disapproval with the recent behavior of Busch at Homestead, they did not force the firing. The former driver of the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Dodge knew earlier in the season that something was amiss between he and his team.
