The news that Michael Schumacher, the seven-time Formula One World Champion, has not only woken from an induced coma but left Grenoble hospital, has been universally welcomed. It had been almost six months since Schumacher was admitted to the hospital having suffered severe head injuries whilst skiing with his family in the French Alps.
