NASCAR Expectations: Reasons To Anxiously Await 2011 Speedweeks at Daytona

Daytona International Speedway is the sight of NASCAR's Super Bowl and it is held at the beginning of the season.  It has been repaved, covering the bumps, cracks, pothole patches and other characteristics the drivers had become so accustomed to. On Nov. 26, 2010, I was thrilled to take this photo of the surface going into Turn 1.  The main surface of the entire track has been repaved. Turns 3 and 4 were dark and racy looking as I turned in the opposite direction. Obviously there is still work to do, though not a lot.  DIS is always an awesome sight,  but by the time NASCAR fans arrive for Speedweeks, they will be struck by the pristine track that should allow for fast and exciting racing, much as Talladega Sup...
