NASCAR in Las Vegas: Carl Edwards Wins the Kobalt Tools 400

Carl Edwards has won the Kobalt Tools 400 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It is his second career win at the mile and a half track. Tony Stewart finished second in the race after leading the most laps. The pivotal point in the race was the final set of green flag pit stops. After taking just two tires on the previous pit stop to gain track position back that he had lost on a previous pit road penalty, Stewart was forced to take four tires on his final stop. Edwards meanwhile, only took two tires on the final stop. As a result, Edwards cycled through as the race leader while Stewart was running third after the round of pit stops. With seven laps to go, Stewart got by Juan Montoya for second place, but at that point was nearly two full seconds...
