United States Court of Appeals Rejects Jeremy Mayfield Appeal Case

Per a statement released by NASCAR vice president of operations Steve O'Donnell, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of the sanctioning body in an appeal lawsuit brought against them by former driver Jeremy Mayfield. Mayfield appealed the ruling of his 2009 case after being suspended and removed from NASCAR for violating the sport's substance abuse policy. Since then, the two sides have been involved in appeals cases, ultimately ending in today's ruling. It should be noted that this ruling stems from the 2009 suspension and subsequent lawsuit and does not suggest Mayfield is guilty of different charges brought against him in the past weeks, including theft and possession of methamphetamine.Those charges have yet...
