It has been said that history has a way of repeating itself. When it comes to NASCAR, it's not so much the moments in general that repeat themselves, but it's the overall facts. In 2009, when the mid-way point of the season approached, the sport experienced many highs and many lows. NASCAR also had to deal with the harsh reality of an economy that was not doing well, and was costing them in terms of attendance, ratings and sponsorship.
