Jimmie Johnson is back.
Actually he never went anywhere, but after a 35th place finish in the Daytona 500, many were trying to say that it would derail him from contending for a fifth straight championship.
Unfortunately for them, Johnson dominated at his home track in California pick up his 48th career win in his No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. He now heads to Las Vegas looking for his fourth win in Sin City and second of the season, as he continues his climb toward the top of the standings.
If he gets there, he’ll have to dethrone current points leader Kevin Harvick. Over the last three seasons Harvick has more non-point wins than he does points paying victories. He’s still searching for the big one after winning...
